What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

QUESTION: How much will this project cost?

ANSWER: Our team at Fine Line Design & Consulting has pricing formulas that work with any budget.  "I have designed and executed hundreds of  projects over the years working with all budgets.  With my experience comes the knowledge and ability to save you more money than it would cost you to buy the items and do it yourself."

What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

As a Professional Certified Interior Designers I save you money on every project.

How? Structural, color, or code requirement mistakes cost homeowners thousands of dollars every year.   Removing walls that should have been engineered cause a major chance of collapsing. Properly designed space requires professional knowledge of all interior, exterior, and code requirements which protect you and your new space.  As a designer I have studied room space planning, drafting, theme design, color psychology, construction, electrical, plumbing and more.

If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

For years scientific studies have been done confirming a space, design and color  of a room can affect your mood in a positive or negative way. Good space planning can change your life in the following ways; ergonomics, (handicapped, aging bending, reaching, etc.) movement, efficiency, time, energy, your emotional mood response to color psychology techniques, and so much more.

What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

1) Define your vision for your new space.

2) Establish a budget that is realistic.

3) If you can't do one or both of these things, hire a professional with experience. An NKBA Certified Designer has 4 years of specialized design education and 3 years internship prior to taking the National Certification Exams. That's 7 years of knowledge and experience that can professionally inspire, visualize and protect your budget and vision during your project.

Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

Certified Interior Designers are required to update their skills,  knowledge, and educate themselves on the latest products.  "Educational Credits" are a requirement every year. Ongoing education keeps us updated on the latest code and safety requirements, color and design trends, lighting design and state of the art products.  Our Team has over 200 hours in continuing education in all areas of Interior Architecture & Design.

Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

The most complicated interior designs are kitchens and bathrooms. Especially if interior walls are removed or changed.   National and local Building Departments require numerous codes, including; electrical, plumbing, lighting and safety codes that must be meet to pass inspections. Not pulling a permit down the line can cost a homeowner thousands of dollars in fines and tear outs later.
